Building Your Pre-workout Exercise Motivation

In terms of exercise motivation, creating a pre-workout routine can be a powerful force in assisting you to achieve your goals.

On this page you can find information on how a pre-workout routine can empower you and acquire the knowledge to develop your very own.

The Challenge

For many, exercising can be a grind. Trying to psych themselves up for another workout becomes more difficult each day. And finally, they give up, blaming themselves for being too week. Can you relate ?

A better way

How do you put on your make-up, day, after day, after day? At this point in your life you probably don't even think about it, you just do it.

Developing an exercise lifestyle, where working out throughout the week feels "normal", and not working out seems strange, will make exercising like putting on your make-up each day - normal, natural, and an unconscious habit.

A pre-workout routine (or habit) can support you by making your workout a natural part of your life. It does this by "revving up" your mind & body to get ready for your workouts.

Building Your Pre-workout Routine

Tip 1. Train at the same time each day. By creating this habit your body and mind automatically will get “energized” for your workouts.

Tip 2. Get moving. Brew a cup of coffee or take an energy supplement and then start a light cardio warm-up (3-5 minutes). Just getting your heart pumping, muscles loose, and blood flowing, will help you feel better and get ready for your normal workout.

Tip 3. Take your "motivation" supplement. Listening to a motivational speaker will give your mind, emotions, and spirit, an uplift, preparing you to have an enjoyable and productive workout.

Tip 4. Choose to be successful. To create a workout habit, be committed to always doing something in your workouts - no matter how you “feel”. That said, even those who "love" exercising have days where they don't "feel" like it. Solution?

For a special strategy for working through those days when you don't "feel" like working out, please click here.

Example of a pre-workout routine:

    3:00pm

    • start the coffee brewing
    • put in a Zig Ziglar or Joel Osteen CD
    • jump on the exercise bike for a light warm-up
    • do 10 minutes of stretching
    • enjoy a cup of coffee
    3:15pm

    • start normal workout

Using the above principles you can build a personal pre-workout routine that will make your exercise motivation unstoppable. Feel free to experiment to find what excites you and makes your exercise sessions fun and effective.
